How easy is it to get stuck in the rat race of life?  Work, eat, sleep… repeat.

Every so often in and amongst the mundane we connect with friends, watch a movie, go out for dinner; we do something that refreshes us don't we.

And if feels so nice!

Stepping out of the rat race of life feels a lot like sitting in a comfy chair after a long day at work.  It’s refreshing.

Something I have discovered is that to experience the ‘refreshment’ of life, we have to be deliberate.  Deliberate in making time to ‘be’ refreshed.

Refreshment is something strange in that our bodies force us to refresh themselves through sleep, food, and drinking.  However, when it comes to our emotional and spiritual refreshment, our bodies are less concerned about forcing us to do so.

So, today I wanted to give you something simple.  A practical encouragement to refresh not just your spirit, but your emotions as well.

So as you read.  Can I please encourage you to not just read this, but make some time today/this week, to find even just 5 minutes to do what this verse is suggesting.

Matthew 6:6

Here’s what I want you to do:  Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God.  Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage.  The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.

It sounds refreshing doesn’t it.

Somewhere quite, honesty, and Gods grace.

Regardless as to how your life looks at the moment, this week make it a priory to do exactly what it is the verse is suggesting.

Find somewhere quiet,

Be honest,

Sense his grace.
